Im just starting to play the non-expansion english version of Gothic2 and would like to know approximately how long it is in hours, thx!
i.e. how many hours does it last on average, thx! |

Welcome to Gothic 2!
The quickest I've ever heard is just under 4 hours of playing, but that really misses the point of Gothic and Gothic 2 (IMHO). The world within the game is so large and complex, and there are so many things to do and see, that to rush through it kind of robs you of much of the value in the game.
I just guessing here, but I think a more reasonable time would be in the 15-20 hour range. When I play, I take even longer than that because I like to poke around checking on everything and trying strange things that may require multiple attempts to get it right, etc.
Then there's the replay issue! Since you can go through the game as Militia/Paladin, Mercenary/Dragon Hunter, or as Novice/Mage, you should play the game at least three different times to get the full experience.
Once you get going, you'll see what I mean -- the game is really addicting and has a high level of replay value.

hmmm I would say a bit longer if not the double if you really want to take the time to explore and try stuff

G2 is as long as Gothic, plus it offers higher replayability and more opportunity for exploration. 50 hours +/- 20 hours.
Play the mage now and leave a melee character for the add-on.

You could play as all three anyway and again in the addon. 
Believe me when I say I'm addicted. I've lost count

30 hours atleast  . You have to know that the world in G2 is big and the game usually runs quite slow.
