Of course it had, Gothic is NOT ment to have alot of stats. Even NOLF 2 had more stats. Gothic 2 wont get hardcore RPG fanatics attention, it's more dedicated towards adventure, action, medieval, 3rd person view players. _________________ There once was a youngster, DzD

believe me, once you train you're weapon skills, you WILL see you're character improving. Not like in Morrowind where weapon skills just add more damage and makes you miss less. |

I have been playing CRPGs since the invention of the genre.
I love morrowind, and Gothic. I dont think they are very comparable.
Gothic doesnt have a lot of stats, but the ones it does have are meaningfull. It has a bunch of minor skills, a few major ones, and a couple of stats. Plus tons of equipment you can constantly upgrade. I was completely satisfied with the advancemtn system of gothic. I thought it was refreshing and effective. I constantly felt like my character was growing.
Gothic was original in that the world felt living and breathing, All the dialogue was voice acted , the NPCs had schedules. the world was changing as a result of your actions. The story was great.. The way they incorporated some action/adventure was fantastic, and I normaly dont like that kind of thing.
I recently purchased and finished Gothic. It is in no way outdated now. You can get it at www.gogamer.com
I dont feel like I need to defend morrowind here, because this is a gothic thread.
Cant wayt for Gothic 2! or elder scrolls 4 for that matter. |

I know it is hard for some of you to imagine, but I remember the time before there even were PCs at all, when there actually was a debate amongst "geeks" about whether the analog or the digital computer was better and the only way to get data and programs into a computer was through punch cards.
I remember a time when if someone said they played games, it meant face to face with another human being! _________________ When everything else in life seems to fail you - buy a vowel. |

Well, I don't know if it will be in 50 years, but imagine what it will really be like when technology allows a marriage of the brain and the computer. When there won't be any monitor or keyboard or mouse - just a base unit with a cable running from that to a plug attached to your brain stem and a connection to the net. After a generation or so of operating THAT way, try to imagine how those people will wonder at the rudimentary and sluggish way we compute! _________________ When everything else in life seems to fail you - buy a vowel. |
