It also depends on your speed (atribute).

I don't know a ton but;

Do quests from one of the guilds, questing = training whatever skills you use
Use money gained to train

Whenever it tells you to go meditate after you gained a skill, go sleep. You will level-up and get 3 'credits' to spend on your attributes(speed, strength, agility, etc.). You will also have a multiplier depending on which attributes you worked under most. If you trained under skills that require strength, you will get a higher strength multiplier.

Get stronger this way
Endurance = how far you can run before getting exhausted and how well you can carry weight over a distance
Strength = How much you can carry, and how strong you are in melee
Agility = How well you can dodge and hit
Speed = How fast you can run/swim

These are the main ones you'll need for 'beating up' monsters and running around.

Use skills that have strength as a requirement in order to get more points in strength when you level up.

Use skills that require speed to get more points in speed when you level up.

Make sure you're not carrying too much. Even carrying a quarter of your maximum will slow you down. Carrying your maximum will make running hardly faster than normal walking. Carry ing more than your maximum will get you the mime walking against the wind ****.
