Finishing the English add-on and working on G3, either still pre-production or even early full production.

So it this way: what sense would it make to start PR for the add-on if the full game still waits for release in the most important foreign market? There is no significant number of potentiell customers yet.

At least PB should say something about the voice recordings if not about the release date of G2 addon.I mean how hard and time consuming is to come here at RPGDOT and write a 4 word sentence in a new topic

"THE RECORDINGS ARE OVER"

OR

"THE RECORDINGS ARE DUE TO BE FINISHED"
It took me 2 minutes to write all this down.I think that when 1/2 globe is waiting for an anouncement the least you could do is give them hope

...this is the way it goes everytime with the gothic games....first the german version comes out, then they say things about the english release....and then there is a period of darkness......cool! history repeating....

...still no news? what's with those guys?
maybe they're really pushing the development of gothic 3....
i can't imagine that they're still finishing the english addon...
..but then again, maybe they're on holiday! well....they deserve that as well....

but what was that mod that was in development? the "trail of darkness"...?
and who's developing it? anyone know?

This modification is developed by a group of hobby-programmers with the tools for Gothic (I) development. Some tools for Gothic II development are released ( on the addon-cd), but for a real Gothic II-mod the game-scripts where needed. They are only Scripts for Gothic (I) at the moment, but the (german) mod-community waits for the release of the Gothic II-scripts, to develop real Gothic II-mods.

With the mod-tools you can chance textures from models and objects (with a grafic-program like photoshop or paint shop pro), insert new objects (with the mod-tool called Spacer), build new levelmeshes (with a 3d-graphic-programm like 3DS Max). Only with the scripts you can programming a story, things nsc can do and events in the story, new dialogs and so on. Without scripts is a real mod not possible. Thats the reason, why the mod-maker-community waits for the release of the Gothic II-scripts. But atm there's no releasedate for the scripts given. (The sripts from Gothic I can not be used for Gothic II-modding.)
Animations can not changed afaik. For this you need access to the game-engine, but the source-code will not be released. In a mod must be used the given animations from the original game.

(Sorry for the worst english ever on this board. )
