That's odd, I see no hint in ohbrandi's or my posts that indicate what you just ranted about, Lordr31z.
I simply think people who enjoy killing children, whether it's a "state of mind" or not is sick.

Hey Bob...sorry, I addressed it to you but you merely quoted the 'guest'. My apologies.

Shifter, I do recognize sarcasm, so I'm not going to go off on how sick you are (though I'm sure there are those around you that have probably mentioned it once or twice) Still...have you ever heard of compassion? Some people do get rather emotional on the subject (include me here) and though I often refer to my trunk as a two body trunk versus my husbands 4 body (6 or 7 if you chop them up ), kids are simply a different thing. IMHO.

Wow, so after a certain age, people move off of your little sympathy list? What a crazy world. (nothing personal against you, most people seem to think this way, I just think it's a little hypocritical)

It's strange how the "bad" guys in fantasy writing can be very very bad, but the same bad guys in fantasy video games have to be dumbed down and made kid-friendly to be able to be sold. (though the blood and guts is okay, as long as you're in the states, but don't let us see any of that sex stuff or we'll drag you into court for corrupting our brat^H^H^H^H precious little children.

The US-Version of Fallout had children in the game, and you were able to kill them (you didn't have to). Because of some crimes to kids in England a while ago (sorry, don't remember what ist was) the European-Version had to come out without kids (and the quests that had to do with them). I guess that's the reason why we have no more kids in rpg's.

Killing anyone, be it a child or a an adult is *bad*. But we are talking about a *game*. Nowadays, people rely too much on the TV and the video games to educate their children, work too much, not 'nuff time, so when something really nasty happens, they say it's <<insert game/movie/book>> 's fault, thus washing their hands...

For some reason the last game I Recall playing that had children was Ultima 8 in which you could slay them , haha was fun as hell! was a thing that was in many ultimas , even in part 3 I think, so I'm sure that one dispute thingy that guy was talking about was partly caused from Ultima I bet haha

Baldurs Gate might have had kids, hmm , well its pretty damn stupid no games have children, its actually more sickening to me it bothers me sort of how they f'ing show babies asses on regular TV commercials!! what the hell??

hopefully someone can create a mod to add children to Morrowind..

Like one of the previous posters said, killing in general isn't good. It can be acceptable in games but it just isn't - IMO - acceptable IRL.

Pretend there are children and pretend you are eating them with your Argonian if you must. Does it really need to be spelled out on the screen? Is your imagination truly that feeble? It's like showing sex in a computer game... what the hells the point? The screen fades to black, you KNOW what happens (and if you don't, you shouldn't). Isn't that enough?

And the loss of any life is a bad thing yes... but the loss of a child's life SEEMS worse. That's not hypocricy. That's maternal and paternal nature kicking in. Most species protect their young with greater vigor than they defend themselves. For every child that dies there is one less adult in the future. And perhaps offspring from them. And so on. A line is broken and millenia of instinct and evolution dictate that in the interest of species proliferation that is a BAD THING.
