Becomming a Water Mage in NotR

Hi!

I`ve just finished the addon part of the game and I now have to face the dragons. I challenged the fire dragon but I noticed that it is MUCH stronger than in the "plain" G2. I decided that first I`ll become a water mage and only after that will I try to kill dragons...but I don`t know how to become a water mage. I`ve already joined the Circle of WAter, but I don`t have a clue how to become a magician. I have my own ring and my own armor, which I received when I entered the Circle of Water. Pls help, it would mean a lot . Thanks

You can't become a Water Mage in G2, with or without the add-on. The Ring of Water is the closest to the Water Mages you will get.

You can however learn the runes, provided you're a mage. (Watch out, cause mage is the most difficult way to play the addon.)

Because of the insane lack of skillpoints. The runes cost more to learn(after the 1st circle), mana costs A LOT more to increase(everything above 120 costs 5 skillpoint to get a single mana point), and even though there are new ways to increase your mana, they don't even come close to the good ol' way where you could be up in 250 mana long before the end of the game(also, mana potions now give you +5 mana, instead of +10). In other words - if you waste any skillpoints, you have a real problem. It's not as bad with the other classes, but they're much harder than they used to be as well.

Although the higher difficulty level was wanted I still think it's a shame that you need to watch out for wasting skill points so much. I liked making a hybrid and that sort of things, but that just isn't possible anymore. Focus, focus, focus...spend every lp you get right. A pity.

I agree. I really enjoy the challenge, but right now you have to rely completely on stone tablets. I spent the tablets too early in my first game, and ended up with 150 strength/100% 2H weapon, but that was the only thing I spent points on. The best weapon in the game requires 170 strength..

The best two-handed weapon is the Beserker Axe (170 str, 200 damage), any guild can use it. The best one-hander is the Ore-Dragonslayer for the Dragonhunter (140 str, 160 damage)

I'm talking about NotR now, don't forget that. In the addon you'll need such amounts of damage to harm the strongest opponents.

I've heard some people are talking about stone guardians. Are they tough/toughest? Anyway its propably hard to get 170 strength.
Are there any new spells? I just thought that the spells have alwasy been a bit weak haven't they?

They are pretty tough because you'll meet them already in chapter two. The toughest creatures are now probably dragonsnappers, seekers (they can upto circle 6 spells like rain of fire) and of course the regular orc elite and dragons.
There are several new spells, water spells and evil/beliar spells. There are 12 new spells in total, but you can't get them all. There are 7 beliar runes but you can only get one of them.

Have you ever played a mage till the end of the game?? The runes from circle 4 and up are extremely lethal. As soon as a mage learns the 4th circle he's unstoppable. In Notr the spells are relatively weaker (they do more damage, but the creatures are much stronger too) and they cost more mana.

HUH!? The weakest paladin rune is WAY too powerful....and you get it quite early. Holy arrow will take out an orc warrior with ease at a very low level.

As Sem said, the mage runes are very strong past circle 3...too strong IMHO. And for kicks, insert masterofdisaster
