Just before the session ended i learned cooking. I'm still near that school.
Next session i will bring wood back.
I repaired the silver and the zinc mines, they where down to 48% and needed to be repaired the be mined again.
Someone took away my wood plane near the zinc mine so i had to build a new one to get boards to repair the mine. I hate that other can take away your buildings.
It is posible to take rotten flax piles out of the water from somebody else.
So don't leave them there if you are not around, if you see rotten flax from our group ready to be taken, get it and store them in a chest.
Kayla i took your 10 rotten flax and used them. Just to let you know it is not stolen.
Maybe we have to build a tub to prevent our flax from being stolen. _________________ The original RED poster (retired now)

I think you have to be in the same guild as another person in order to take their rotten flax. You can't be just anyone and take it. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

Great.
I will make lime. We need 500 lime in total wich means we need to get 2000 limestone and 4000 wood to make it and get 1000 charcoal as byproduct.
I already got some lime, but we need more. When i got to the session i will take 400 wood and 66+ boards to the mine and get more limestone and make lime with the wood i got with me.
WE need to check the onions.
i want to get some cooking to get my skills up. _________________ The original RED poster (retired now)

I have exams next week and two days into the week after that. It would be very unwise to befubble my 98's across the board... particularly for something that will be destroyed soon after... |

Everyone,
If you were in-game during last session, you know the big news, but if
not...
Beta#3 will soon come to an end. After 4.5 years in development, A Tale
in the Desert will go live on:
Saturday, February 15, 2003 at 12:00 Noon EST (GMT-0500)
A Tale in the Desert will run as a subscription game, for $13.95 per
month, with no initial (box) cost. Also, the first 24 gameplay-hours or 30
days, whichever comes first, will be a free trial period.
I'll have more information about ways to reserve a character name,
payment options, and other details of release over the next few weeks.
To stress the servers, we're going to have our longest "play session"
ever. This event is:
Friday, 1/17/2003 at 2:00PM EST (GMT-0500), 24x7, for 2 weeks
The close of this 2 week session will be the end of Beta#3. After that,
we'll do a series of short sessions, typically 24 hours each, where we
repeatedly reset the game world. Everyone is invited to help with this
final phase of beta.
Beta#3 will end with a contest unlike anything you have seen previously.
The people over at http://www.atitd.net are organizing a contest with an
official A Tale in the Desert chocolate pyramid as a prize. How do you
win? Submit a screenshot of your finest sculpture, along with in-game
coordinates. All entries will be displayed in a gallery on the site.
For this session, I have made some adjustments to allow for easier
charcoal production. First, I have lag-proofed charcoal ovens (but not
hearths). Next, (as of last session in fact) I have released Charcoal
Braziers, which have a totally different method of operation than
hearths/ovens. Braziers turn out 200 charcoal at once while consuming a
minuscule amount of fuel. The skill to build and run them is expensive:
Requirement: Hint:
------------------- ----------------
100 QuickSilver Only known source is in 7 Lakes. Good trade
opportunity.
8 Thermometers Some players have figured out the secret to
efficient production.
200 Firebricks Common.
+4 Focus Recipes for this are known - ask around.
My expectation is that Egypt will soon move beyond charcoal being a
significant time sink.
Finally, the Test of the Demi-Pharaoh will start about 24 hours into the
session.
On the Nile,
Teppy (Pharaoh)
Josh (Nekhmet)
James (AmenRa)
Dave (Orpheus)
Joe (SickJoe)
Ed (EdTut)
Geoff (GeoffTut)
Ricardo (Potiphar)

Okay Roach, for that Lynch guy I figure it will take about 10 iron and 15 copper to make his iron blades and loom frames. Not to mention the 12 boards.
I think 15 rotten flax per processed metal would be good. That figures in the cost and time needed for mining the ore, making the charcoal and then making the metal all together. Then say 25 more rotten flax for the time and charcoal to make the blades, nails and wire. So a total of 400 rotten flax. How does that sound? Or am I over estimating or under-estimating the value of rotten flax? _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

I didn't wait for you, I quoted him a price soon after you left. Guess how much I told him it would cost. 400 rotten flax.

Excellent! *does the villian finger drum*
That will make 20 canvas. I think that's more than fair considering he can now avoid the headache that is the student's loom. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!
