Where'd you find the fomula for the strange potion? |
|
Where in the game do you find the ingredient list for the strange potion? I have almost won the game, but never found the formula anywhere. How did anyone get the info in the first place? _________________ Jesus saves. Allah forgives. Cthulhu thinks you'd make a nice sandwich... |

Well, I just looked up in the walkthrough. Never found any hints in game. _________________ - Merz |

Same here, I read a lot of the books, but never found the recipe. Perhaps Garret might enlighten us. _________________ If God said it, then that settles it!

As in many obnoxious puzzles... |
|
I think that it's one of those try-everything-with-everything-else-type of puzzles... Admittedly, I read thru some posts to find out how to make the potion... when I started to play, I had forgotten some of the ingredients, but tried to make it anyway... ét voila! The Guardian refused to put anything else in the pot but the right ingredients, and I succesfully created a strange potion.
Odd note: the last ingredient I put in was a bottle of water, and for some reason, since I had about eight bottles of water stacked, the bottlestack showed up as 'a strange potion'. When I dragged one bottle out of the stack, that one bottle showed up as 'a bottle of water'. I repeated this until I had one strange potion. _________________ "Ooooh, fishy fishy fishy FISH! ...And it followed me, wherever I did go..." |

That's good for figuring it out, but was it just dumb luck that someone found out what to do with it or are there clues around that I haven't found yet? I went to see chicken boy when I made it into the crypt and tried to talk to him after I cast reveal. He just clucked. I looked through the room a little, but didn't see any clues. I don't remember seeing anything about a potion in his book either. The formula could have been discovered on chance. I can live with that. That's how I found out how to enchant things before I looked up the PDF on the game. But what to do with it could have been found by chance too, but I'll bet that there is something more to it. I mean, why go through the trouble of putting in all the steps with more clues for people to find and use it? _________________ Jesus saves. Allah forgives. a side note on this i noticed that before the patch the bar maid was totally on the rag, she tryed to beat my ass for going back there (even though i was just trying to steal wine and cheese, not even use the cauldron!)
The after the patch, she was totally chilled out and didn't really complain even when i made a chicken potion in her soup! _________________ ---Sunshine |

I can understand possibly finding the Strange potion by accident... You put stuff in and it just works. *poof*. However I REALLY don't know who the heck got the idea to shove it down the chicken's beak. I mean that just isn't something you'd think about doing. |
