Hi all,
I'm running a modified Compaq with AMD 1.1, 512 megs of slow ram, 4600ti, onboard sound, Windows XP, modified EXE, and the latest drivers for everything. Morrowind will crash my system frequently... never just to the desktop, but to a complete reboot. This seems to happen randomly. Sometimes the game runs for half an hour or an hour at a time, sometimes five minutes. Has anyone had similar difficulties? |

I've had inexplicable crashes (desktop only) but I can say I've played the game five hours straight and not had any problems. Never any warning message either, it just drops straight to desktop.
PS: I'm on XP, crappy sound card, 32 mb Geforce 2, 1.6 GHz Pentium 4 and 256 mb Ram. |

Your problem sounds like you may have a cheap power supply. |

I was thinking that too. So, I'm in the market for a new case/ps. Does anyone have any recommendations about what type I should get? Is there any difference between the new aluminum cases that I've seen around, etc? How many watts or whatever should the power supply be? |

I've been having the same problem. I thought I had a memory leak somewhere, but I haven't figured it out. My power supply is decent one from Fry's. |

Yes, my son is having that exact same problem.
I've heard other people talk about bad power supplies for other problems. Maybe it's time to grab a better one and install it. Maybe we'll try that tonight. |
