I haven't been at these boards since the US release. And all of a sudden, the game that everyone has been waiting for is coming out in a few days.

I can't wait.

I always had a strong predijust against RPG games, but Gothic really opened my eyes. And Gothic isn't even really an RPG.

How much do you think MorrowWind will cost? (In US or CDN dollars)

well, after playing Morrowind for a while, and then loads up Gothic you go WOW !!
Morrowind is not, in any aspect, better that Gothic.
Gothic is just much more real, Gothic is unique. No games can ever be compared with Gothic ! .. except Gothic 2, i guess.

I guess if you have GeForce4, Klipsch Surround Sound, and a high-end system it can be quite stunning. I only have a GeForce2 GTS.

All the smalltalk, ambient sounds, and other great audiodetails as those Gothic contains, there is none of in Morrowind.
The characters are not doing anything, unless you directly interact with them.
Also, the physics are very bad. They rocked in Gothic.

But hey! it is a good RPG, it just can't be compared with Gothic. Never.

Hello people! It's been a LONG time since I posted something in Gothic forums

Morrowinds Readme.txt says this about crashing:

"If your game is crashing or you get sound problems, make sure to update the drivers for your sound card. You can also solve this by lowering the Hardware Acceleration on your card.

Do this by going to Windows, selecting "Control Panel", "Multimedia", "Playback Advanced Properties", "Performance"

Set the Hardware acceleration to either "None" or the line next to "None".

Sound cards that need to have this done include most ESS Technologies and Cirrus Logic (Crystal Audio) sound cards."

So try it out and let others know if it worked!!!

Two completely different games. I like them both for COMPLETELY different reasons.

Gothic: Great game, immersive world and story.. visuals .. sounds... BAD ENDING

Morrowind: You can create and customize your own character. Its easy to add your own content. The game NEVER ends

awsome tweak

if the games slow for you

i rigged it to use Quad lighting instead of its basic lighting

it runs like SILK now

im on 1027x 768 resolution with max shadows and it is perfect.

mm this game is much more fun now (goes off to play his custom Spell sword)

spellsword = Warrior that can shoot fire balls and ehal himself

mmmm.

I've played both Gothic and Morrowind. I must say that, in my opinion, Morrowind is the superior game and that is mainly because of what I can create with it. I liked Gothic but it was really just something to get me by before the big ones came out, namely Morrowind and NWN. There is just so much to do, it's nonlinear with so many options, that Gothic can't even come close to comparing. I'm sorry to say that Gothic probably will no longer see the light day now that I have Morrowind.
