Low-end system upgraded: Did my performance improve? |
|
I've been playing the game with this system:
733 P3
256 RDRAM
GeForce 2 GTS 32mb
I am running with Jamison's safedisk patch.
I usually get 7-12 fps in a city like Balmora and 14-22 outside on the roads. You should know I've never been in any big fights with more than 1 enemy or any magic users, so maybe my performance would drop more in those situations.
Just upgraded to 512 RDRAM. See maybe 1 or 2 more fps, but no noticeable improvement.
About to replace my processor with a 933 P3, the fastest my motherboard can support. More details to follow for whoever cares......... |

So, the 933 P3 is in there now. Found something interesting.
In areas that my old GeForce 2 can handle I have huge fps increases. I get 15-20 more fps in buildings and 10-15 more in the back alleys of Balmora.
When I go to large, open, graphically intense areas, like the middle of Balmora along the river, I see no performance boost. It looks like I am totally reliant on my video card for those types of places.
Hope someone found this helpful. |
