Funny dialog inconsistencies

I got the Akil's delivery mission from the quiet guy in the tavern in the harbor. So I went to talk to this merchant who needed me to be his delivery boy and get him a package from Akil's farm. He hires me on to be his delivery boy and when I ask to see his wares he proceeds to tell me how he doesn't trust me enough to do business with me because I am a mercenary. I thought that was funny, but in the end it turned out his distrust of me was warranted, I gave his package to the guy in the bar to fence.

So I go up to Akil's farm where earlier (before I was a mercenary) I had gotten a quest to help out with the mercenaries menacing his farm. I get up there and the people there are still talking to me like I - a mercenary - am going to save them by getting rid of the mercenaries. Well, as it turns out, I did, because I had a package to pick up and Akil wouldn't talk to me until I got rid of the mercenaries. I thought that was funny...might not be so funny when I get back to Onar's farm though...them guys are dead now.

I started chapter 2 and went to the smith in town to get a quest to kill an orc and another quest to kill some bandits and recover Horad the merchant's stuff. So I go to talk to Horad. He tells me that the smith is done making weapons for the paladins and is selling them to him so he can finally sell them to me. Then I tell him the smith told me about him getting attacked by bandits and that if I recovered his stuff from them the smith would take me on as his apprentice. He laughs and says this must be the smith's way of saying he's sorry he can't sell him any weapons right now. But he just got done telling me the smith will sell him weapons now...I guess I was supposed to do that quest in the first chapter.

Harad will never sell any weapons to you. The seller at the marketplace only informs you because he's now got better weapons available. In every chapter, the merchants restock with new, better equipment.

That's why I called them the smith and the merchant.
