This game is great with a 5.1 speaker. A little discription: when you walk the sound of your footsteps is in the center speaker and environment sound in the other four. It is extremely cool when you walk by a waterfall, you can hear the sound of water passes by your ear. Walking at night in forests is cool too with sound of crickets and owls passes by. This game has the best sound I hear in games.

BTW listening to a headphone can't compare to a 5.1 system.

I must be inadept when it comes to soundcards and speakers.

I have a Inspire 5.1 set of speakers, and a Audigy Platinum EX...
And I havnt had any 'surround' experience so far. =(

Only in Vampire (Redemption) I can hear some objects produce 3d sound...

Best Regards

I read in a German forum it might be a good idea to grab some 3D-glasses.

I looked into that. I found a software solution but it is a driver wrapper that uses OpenGL.
