Gothic and Computer shutdown... |
|
Has anyone heard of/have a problem with Gothic where when you shut down the computer, it doesn't, it just hangs?
I've had this problem with the demo and full game. Once I exit Gothic, and at any time afterwords go to shut down my computer, it locks up. This finally caused some corruption in my system so it won't even boot into normal Windows now, I can only get into "Safe Mode." At this rate I'll have to reinstall Win98
My system has a Gforce DDR, SB Live, and AMD T-bird 1Ghz. If anyone knows a fix, I'd greatly appreciate it. _________________ Paladin Rithe |

I had that problem with Win98, but it had nothing to do with Gothic. I never did find out what was causing it, though. The solution was WinXP. |

Shutdown problems on AMD systems are a well known Win98 problem. Either Microsoft or AMD released a patch to fix it. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |
