Where and when I can get the crossbow?(I join the old camp)

You can kill Bullit, the guy who meet you, when you jast arrived. He has a light crossbow. You can found him in the barracs. Or wait, in the 4 or 5 (i don't remember) chapter you can get any crossbow you want.

In the end of the first chapter yes, and the first chapter tends to be as long as the remaining of the game together. =)

Yes, it happend in the end of the first chapter and i was 16 level with the Orc Hammer.
