Interesting!

I found out something that amezed me.
I started playing Blood Rayne a few days ago.A good game if you ask me.
In some cutscenes there are dialogues that speak of a skull that was found by the nazys. This skull belonged to BELIAR (a god from Atlantis).
The thing that amezes me is that it is possible that PB didn't invent the names of the gods in G1,2 and maybe these gods really existed at some point in history.

I would like to know your opinions on that.

PS:WOW!!!

Have you ever considered searching for "Beliar" at Google? You'll find a pretty extensive answer within no time.

Belial/Beliar was mentioned in the Christian Bible as a prince of darkness, sometimes used synonymously with 'devil' or 'antichrist'. Beliar also seems to play a major role in the Apocrypha (sp?).
He also played a major role in Gremlin's occult action/adventure 'Realms of the Haunting' which happens to be one of my favorite games .

EDIT

Spunior is correct, just look up a few of the references on Google, you'll be amazed...

If all else fails, you might try ebay. RotH is from '96 and might not run under XP (it runs fine under Win98, though, tried it on one of my '98 computers only this year).
The game uses a 3D engine with sprites, not unlike Doom, but in fact it's a very neat adventure with a minor emphasis on combat (far less combat than in a shooter, and still less combat than in 'Alone in the Dark', for example), many (not too easy and not too difficult) puzzles and a very tight story. It also had very good FMVs for its time.

Here is something I found in the dictionary under Belial (no beliar though):

'one of the fallen angels in Milton's Paradise Lost'

Quite interesting... But I suppose that could just be coincidence...

EDIT: I tried the google search and it said the same thing for Beliar but i still think its odd that its from Miltons Paradise Lost...

Very close Jaz, Beliar is mentioned in the Bible, and is none other than Satan the Devil, but not the antichrist. Other names/titles given to the Devil include 'Father of the Lie, Prince of Darkness, and Beelzebub (literally translated "Lord of the Flies, or Master of the dung"). Interestingly when translated, "Satan the Devil" means 'slanderer' and 'resister.'
