Video games have come alive...

... at least according to Mega64!

Go over to the Mega64 site to watch live-action videos of Shenmue, Metal Gear Solid and Tetris (be sure to watch the Tetris one, it had me in stitches)...

Interesting, but to be honest, I didn't find them that amusing. Just goes to show how different our senses of humour can be!!

My sense of humor is quite different too, I didn't see why I should laugh about these things

Funny! Looks very fun to make, could get into that.

That MGS one is great! The Tetris one is also pretty good, but I like the Shenmue one the best!

Problem is, I didn't play Shenmue so I can't judge that one. I also like the Frogger snippet in the trailer!
@corwin: I guess you need to like shows like Jackass and Travel Sick to appreciate Mega64 .

I thought the Tetris one was funny.
The Shenmue one was a nice play on the talking to NPCs and asking them the same 3 or 4 questions that seems to plague RPGs.

I liked the Tetris one best, but I think it had a lot more potential than they realized...

I like the Shenmue one. Asking a complete stranger where sailors might hang out seems only slightly more ridiculous in real life than in the game, and the "quick-time event" at the end is great. And I like the attempts at recreating the moody tone! But I can see how the whole thing would be pretty meaningless if you haven't played it.

I find it interesting to consider how typical in-game activities would be regarded in real life. Behaving like psychotic kleptomaniacs is standard practice in many RPGs, not to mention stuff like GTA3! I'd like to see a game that allows the same kind of freedom, but that scrutinises the players' actions and confronts them with the kind of responses we would expect in the real world... but for now, I guess Mega64 will have to do
