Hello, first posting here but have loved the Gothic games a long time. My question is about Lobart's wife Helga. Lobart tells me she's sick, then I talked to Helga and she says get some medicine from Vatras. As I talk to her the screen pops up and says new diary entry. But when I talk to Vatras there is no dialog for Helgas medicine and nothing new in the diary. Is this a bug? Thanks for any help.

Are you sure there isn't a dialogue? You should be able to just tell Vatras that she needs some medicine, then he should give it to you. Are you sure you don't already have it in your inventory? It looks like a orange potion.

Tried it twice and no dialog from Vatras. Then when I talk to Helga again the only resonse I can use is "hope you feel better", nothing about medicine so I guess it's not in my inventory.

There are three possible scenarios:

1) You accidentally chose the wrong response when the quest was offered to you, thereby avoiding the option to help her.

2) You accidentally drank the potion, thereby erasing your only way of completing the quest.

3) You encountered a rare bug that until now, I haven't heard of.


It's a small quest, so not completing it won't effect your overall game. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. Next time you play the game, be careful when approaching that quest.

I've got a save just before I talk to her for the first time. I was thinking if anybody new the cheat code for the medicine. I hate to leave quests unfinished. Thanks

Try posting on a thread with a marvin mode discussion on it. Someone who knows how to insert items like that will tell you how to do it. If you want, you could start a new thread. Just make the subject something like, "inserting quest items?"

linkitch compiled a full list of items with their respective item codes. I think you may find Hilda's potion there.
