Did my First Enchantment,,,,,dont think it works though

Hey all,

Ok, so, after a few more hours of aimlessly roaming around and getting used to the different menus, I decided to try and create some enchantments. (sidenote - the manual sucks, lol)

I gave it about a 5 second thought, lol, and decided to try and make this robe (non-magical, low level) into something usefull. AFter looking thru the spells I have (which isnt many), I decided to try and make the robe a Fire Robe.

I dont recall the name of the spell of hand, but Its only usefull when in melee combat, I believe its a "touch" type spell. Anywaysss, on my second try, I succeeded in making that normal robe, enchanted WOOOTTT!!!!!! But, I dont think it does the effect I originally wanted on it.

What my thoughts were, was to create a robe that I could wear while fighting and everytime the critter/enemy hit me, they would get FLAMED, know what im saying?? Well, I dont think I did it right, lol. Can you even do it to begin with? I stood and let a crap take some shots at me, but nothing ever happened to it.

I guess maybe I should have put a sheild into the robe or somthing. Oh well,,,,

Any thoughts, comments????

I don't think you can accomplish what you're trying to do (sort of a "wall of fire" spell). Depending on which spell you used and how you set it up, you could have a variety of different effects coming from your robe. It won't work passively, though. You'll have to "invoke" the robe like you would a scroll and hope the spell-effect lasts for the duration of the fight.

No way to set something up that damages the enemy every time they attack (unfortunately).

You can, however, make a robe that continually inflicts flame damage on yourself until you die. There is no justice in the world.

And if you can get someone else to wear that robe...

You know, that just might work. Merchants will equip good items you sell to them, so a high-powered "suicide robe" just might look good. Assuming it would work, I wonder if you'd get in trouble with the local authorities?

Considering contant enchantments need the souls of golden saints, it's something of a pricey alternative to taunting them until they lose it, or even using a spell or item that frenzies humanoids by 100 points for about 10 seconds...
