I'm having the same problem you had with the 2nd Shaman in the Sleeper's Temple - I can't insert that sword into the skull stone (and I don't see anywhere else to put it), were you able to solve this problem? Did you get to the tunnel for the Cave of Death? I'm following the FAQ too. Please let me know if you can help, thanks a million!

I had the same problem; but like I said in the past post, when you encountered the seconded shaman, the gate closed. After you defeat him the gate opens. I think it's a bug or something, cause I searched all over the place and couldn't find the place where the sword goes.

If I remember correctly, You need to walk to the end of the room, there is a platform, in front of that, there is opening that you can jump into a small room.
walk to the tomb at the middle and use "Use" on the big gem, and it should open the gate.
