Weapon Forging Discussion |
|
Being a uni-lingual American, I will not be able to understand the demo, so if anyone can shed some light on this matter:
In Gothic I, the use of raw steel to forge swords was a joke. Take the steel, stick it in the fire, hit it once on the anvil, dip it once in the water, and grind it on the wheel for 1/20th of a second...I think that real weapon forging is a bit more difficult. That on top of the fact that you can only make crude swords.
In Gothic II, will you be able to learn skills to increase the quality of your forged weapons? Can you make axes as well as swords? Do you get to choose what weapon you will make?
Any help will be greatly appreciated. |

From what I can make from things, you should be able to make more than just a crappy little sword. I don't think they would give smithing its own category if all you could do with it is make a crappy sword that you would only use for about 2 kills and only because you yourself made it. Added to that, In the demo I became the smith's apprentice, and he did a little foreshadowing that you can go as far as making your own magical weapons. As far as making axes and such, I have no Idea.
But DO NOT take this as anything even close to official or, for that matter, unofficial. I am just an anxious player like the rest out there, and am just making hopeless assumptions. But who knows, I might have at least a little bit right... _________________ I don't do autographs. |
