What is your video card? The GeForce 3 and 4 are quite processor intensive. _________________ Make good choices. |

You can play with your system to the end of time. It will not help you. Its just the game bro... its just the game. |

My sysem:
AMD Athlon 900 Mhz
256 Mb Ram
Geforce 2 GTS
I get like 30-50 fps... on 1024x768. Sometimes it drops to like 15. But i can live with that. |

My system has:
Intel Pentium 3 800mhz Mobile
nVidia GeForce 2 Go 16MB
512 MB SD-RAM PC-100
Yet it runs like mad with over 20fps.
Only with really foggy situations will the framerates drop below 10fps. |

BTW, it is without pixel shading, a Toshiba Satelite 3000.
Shadows pushed to max.
Only problem is the SafeDisk and the fog that is causing the lag. |

Problems with Morrowind are the fault of OLD COMPUTERS. Deal with it and UPGRADE. Anything below a 1ghz, 256DDR and geforce3 will run Morrowind like crap. Get a new DDR motherboard - PC100 or 133 IS SLOW! That is a bottleneck. Anything below a Pentium 3 or AMD Thunderbird will bottleneck. For all you Intel fanboys, it's time to grow up and get a Palomino XP or Thoroughbred processor - 1600+ or better. Screw Intel, you are paying alot more for brand name nothing more.
Get at least a GEFORCE3 or 4. Anything lower is SLOW. Deal with it or go get an Xbox and play Morrowind.
AND, if you DO have the above minimum specs on your computer, then your computer has OLD DRIVERS so again UPGRADE. Reinstall Windows or defrag. Also, use Windows 2000 or Win98SE. Also, get the "unofficial" no-cd patch that removes the copy protection from the Morrowind.exe file. Frames will jump big time. Don't ask me where it is, searh these forums cause people posted it many times. |

What if I don't want to upgrade? Really, though, Morrowind is fine w/ my GF2 Ultra. _________________ Make good choices. |

Good idea. If youre comp will not run MW then sell it for 300 and go get an xbox and the game. And you do not need memory cards since it has a hard drive so youre all set. |

hmm..I have a duron 900 in my other computer on a asus via chip, and when i played it on 640x480, it sucked bad, but on 1184x1000 (or thereabouts) it was a lot smoother. i think the engine has more of a task rendering all that complexity at lower res. it has more "room to breathe" with more pixels..maybe, i dunno. |

I think the faster comps might be to fast. I dont know for sure but if i load down the settings and put everything on full it runs better then if i have everything set low. But the game still runs crappy reguardless. I think this game has many problems causing this not just one flaw. As of now, wether it is net render or whatever this game engine blows period. I like this game so i will still play it. But if they are stupid enough to use this game engine for any future games then i will be sitting those games out. Bye the way my other games run smooth as silk no problems. |

P3 633, 512 megs of ram, geforce 2-32meg.
And with this, I get at least 7-10 frames even in the laggiest of areas, at 1024*768 res.
My machine has always been well behaved. _________________ Great minds don't think alike, they think creatively. |

I love it when people blame bad memory leaks on processor cycles. Let me tell you with my current system I can render 80 million polies in 3d studio max, and get better fps than morrowind gives me inside balmora lol. |

Intel are cheaper than AMD.. faster and blah blah... All this quantum architecture crap makes no difference to gaming
And btw your quite clearly an AMD fan boy. _________________ -Denethorn |

Okay, this is abig spam fest now so lets finish this. I have:
P4 1.6ghz
256mb ddr ram
Geforce 2 MX 400 64mb
Windows XP
The engine sucks, I am no fanboy, and all of you blaming this on his computer should run at high velocity in to a wall. His ram is ALRIGHT, and is slowing him down, but not to the point of 7fps. His videocard is GODLIKE, and his processor ios okay. P3 is fine, not BOTTLENECKING as many of you people call it. Intel, AMD, both good, but AMDs overheat. Get more ram, or get the MORROWIND FPS OPTIMIZER at: www.morrowind.nm.ru
