Kult: Playable Demo Released

Thanks to Tárkányi and Jürgen for letting us know that Project Three Interactive has released a playable <a href="http://www.p3int.com/news_center.asp" target="_blank">demo</a> of their fantasy RPG 'Kult: Heretic Kingdoms'. You can find the ~190MB file right <a href="http://www.gamershell.com/download_7167.shtml" target="_blank">here</a> at Gamer's Hell or <a href="http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=20453" target="_blank">here</a> at Worthplaying and if you want to learn more about 'Kult' feel free to check out Dhruin's <a href="http://www.rpgdot.com/index.php?hsaction=10077&newsid=32481">hands-on preview</a> while waiting for your download to finish.<br><br>Edit (note to self): Should check mail from oldest to latest instead of other way around . Here's Project Three's press release that we also received earlier today:<blockquote><em>'Kult: Heretic Kingdoms' playable demo released

With the pan-European release of the highly anticipated fantasy RPG 'Kult: Heretic Kingdoms' getting very near, its publisher Project Three Interactive has made a brand new demo available for download. The demo weighs 189 Mb, has been premiered by GamersHell.com and can be downloaded there.

'The way this game has turned out after 3 years of development, a real gem I can assure you, well, we were just burning to let gamers enjoy a small taste of it', says Project Three COO Erik Schreuder. 'The game starts off at a nice easy going pace while giving the player plenty of information about the epic storyline; I am sure they will feel drawn in when it ends. It really makes you want to play more and the beauty of it is, it only gets better.'

'Kult: Heretic Kingdoms' combines accessible hack & slash gameplay with an engaging adventure storyline, set in a fantasy medieval kingdom. The game design by International Hobo features unique game mechanics for healing, an attunement system for ultimate character customization and a parallel world to explore - really setting the game apart from others in the genre.

Project Three made it known that the demo just released, is the English version and that they have also created that same demo in German, French, Italian and French - in short, the additional languages the full game will be released in.* Unlike the demo, the full game will have
all 5 languages to choose from at the start, with the Germans and the French actually able to also enjoy the game's voice-over in their own tongue (missing out on the great voice of 'Dr.Who-4' Tom Baker though!)

* [Not all of the foreign language demos will be released via the internet right now though. Most will be used for covermount deals with magazines.]

Please visit the official 'Kult: Heretic Kingdoms' homepage for additional information, downloads and news: <a href="http://www.p3int.com/kult" target="_blank">www.p3int.com/kult</a></em></blockquote>

ATI problems

Hi,

regarding the problems with the dissapearance of the characters:
This issue is related to some tested version of ATI Radeon cards (mostly 7000 and 8500).
Please go to the graphic options and check Use w-buffer.
It could immediately display you the characters. If any problems remains, please contact us on the P3 forums:

Hopefuly all will work fine;-))
Enjoy

I'm playing it but....

The game seems to want to be a Diablo or Sacred clone but so far the items and attunements (read skill enhancers) are few and lame. I know this is a demo but there sure isn't very many items at all. I'm guessing that I've found a total of 50 different items total in the first 4 areas. The narration is the only thing that has stood out in the game at all. One merchant that you can trade with so far is also a major downer. He only has about 15 items in his whole inventory. Also your inventory is very limited and you must leave most things lying on the ground. Not sure if you can store items in chests yet. There is only one chest in the first town and it is locked at present. It seems that solving a quest may unlock this chest for usage. I would play this game only if it is very cheap. Say $20 or so. Sacred is a much better game of this type.
