Dwemer Artifacts, Sugar Lips Quest, need help |
|
not a mainline quest, but ole Sugar Lips tells me to recover Dwemer artifacts, bowl, cup and tube(?) from Hla Oad, guy in Fatlegs Dropoff...
can't find them anywheres...intimidation, bribes, nothing works, anybody found them? would like to move on, this one has me stumped.
thanks dudes. |

2 options
a) Steal them from the chest behind the guy (not Fatlegs, the other guy) in Fatlegs Dropoff. Difficult to do as someone with low Stealth skill. Suggest finding Chameleon spell and using it. That helps.
or
b) Find a Dwemer ruin and get the artifacts that way - that's more of a fighintg than thieving route though. |

I tried using artifacts from a Dwemer ruin and Sugar Lips wouldn't take it. According to the mission script, those items at Fatleg's are tagged as the only ones that can be used to complete the quest.
I have heard from other players that that is not true and still from other players that that is absolutely true. Could be Guild/professional alignment related. Unsure at this point.
Frankly, I'd jack them from the chest behind the walking fur rug and run like Hell back to Balmora. |

I was able to solve that quest after i found such stuff in a ruin (fighter or blades quest i think )
I tried everythink before ( killing all;search the whole cave below ect ) nothing
helped.
But it isnt necessary to get the " tagged " items.... |

That's what i do, it works fine. You can also just go all psycho on the Kajit and the shopkeep....strangely enough your bounty I believe will be lower if you do it that way, but I prefer to keep the blood off my hands if possible. |

Presumably, if you're in the thieves guild, doing thieving quests, you've got some thieving skills right? It's possible to steal those things without them noticing, but you have to be sorta good at stealth. Just make sure the two guys are looking the other way, make sure you're sneaking and all that.
If youre just NOT sneaky enough to steal them without noticing you, and your speechcraft is NOT high enough to taunt them into fighting you, then you're going to have legal problems after you get the items.
But anyway, i've heard that other dwemer artifacts (like, from a cave or something) should work just fine. There's a dwemer ruin rather close to balmora, sort of near fort moonmoth, should find plenty of the dwemer stuff in there. |

Hmmm I don't get this.
Here's the deal:
1) Start lockpicking the chest: He attacks, I kill him, pay the fine for thieving (4 gold) and go back to the chest WITH his key. It wont open - just keeps saying it's locked.
2) Taunt him into attacking: Kill him, get the key, go to the chest WITH his key. It wont open - just keeps saying it's locked.
3) Lockpicking the chest: Can't don't have that much skill (only have 37)
4) Pickpocket: not enough skill, but I'm not even sure it would help since it wont accept the goddamned key!
(at least it wont in the other scenarios)
What fatal clue am I missing here?? Is the real key somwhere else or...?? |

There are 3 chests in the "Drop Off;" make sure you're trying to open the right one. _________________ (@) |

You need that one for a other quest (thieves guild, balmora).
There are 3 dwemer items in a chest at fat legs drop off.
But there is a dwemer tube somewhere else in balmora. I have a other one. I stole that out of balmora somewhere or killed a guy.
If you go to fat legs drop off, make sure to do the slaves quest in the cave.
You just have to take the slave back to balmora. Then it is your choice what to do. (kill slave or master) _________________ The original RED poster (retired now)
