How can I get to the monastery?
   

How can I get to the monastery?
And is it good to join the magicians? Or should I join Onar or Lord Andre??

easy, just leave through the east gate in the city, then follow the path to the right, up the hill you'll come to some stone staisrs, go up there, over the bridge, and keep following the paths, you should see a tavern at some cross roads, and near there are some handy sign posts

There are no camps anymore in Gothic 2, they were in Gothic 1, now you are joining guilds. In effect these are the Mercenaries, the Paladins and the Firemages.
