How do you become a Paladin?

Okay I finished the game with a Fire Mage, now I am tying it with a paladin. I am in the Milita but everytime I have speak to Lord Hagen about joining the order I get blah blah blah...and told my deeds will tell them....
How do you get into the bloody order I am already on chapter 3.

Well, hm, you have to come back from the valley of mines with the report from garond and after that you also have to do the quest from Free Bennet... I think he makes you paladin than..
