Gothic: Post-Mortem @ GBase (German) |
|
Thanks to Daniel from Swiss GBase for letting us know that they have a post-mortem feature about Piranha Bytes' successful 'Gothic' series. The article covers the entire series from the original game to the 'Night of the Raven' expansion for 'Gothic II'. |

It's a bit long for a full translation (don't have the time) but there's nothing too exciting in it if you have played the game(s). It's mostly a summary of the story and the options (career-/faction-wise) that you have in G1, G2 and NotR. It's a nice retrospective feature but if you've either played the games or at least read a couple of G1, G2 and NotR reviews each then it's quite likely going to sound very familiar . |

Don't use Babelfish ... use Google Translate
It is an interesting read ... at least what I've seen thus far.

"Don't use Babelfish ... use Google Translate "
Thanks.
Thats odd it doesnt seem like any PostMortem I have ever seen, not only is it NOT written by a Dev, but as Moriendor mentions it is a summary of Gothic series.
Maybe it due to the translation but this seems to be written by a fan or game site person.
Dont get me wrong it is a nice read but certianly not a Post Mortem.
I would love to see a PostMortem on Gothic Series find what went wrong and what was cut but I would imagine that PB is still very overwhelmed with work on G3 to even consider doing one. |

I agree - I was ultimately hoping for a post-mortem like the one for VtM: Redemption, where they talked financials and problems and the like ...

Itīs a sort of a history of the Gothic series. Pretty interesting article. Maybe Daniel didnīt know what a Post Mortem is in the context of a computer game.
Hopefully Mo has the time to edit the newsbit. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |
