I know only one perfect game - (gues what ) Gothic. I had a Polish version and it sucks. Gues how they translated Mud . I don't know what to do, laught or cry. The woices were also pathetic. But I've solved the problem. Enter Gothic.ini. line - sound enabled 1, change 1 to 0 and now it is a perfect game to me

I have one perfect game and that's Fallout2 (due to some improvements from Fallout which's still almost perfect and then Gothic...not counting RQ Threewave CTF of course... )

I do agree with the MW vs Gothic posts...MW's huge and looks good, but its size makes it look boring too since you have to walk through the same textured landscape for so long before reaching something new...
Gothic may not have had better graphics (and the water in MW is second to none) but I liked how they used it better and therefore I find it more pleasing even in graph. dep...
Luckily there are some mods on the way to MW,so it might very well be worth its cash in the end...I saw one of the Ultima remakes swapped to the MW engine...and I haven't played any Ultima yet...so...

About DS being boring...it was actually a nice surprise to me....I took it for what it was,an action game and enjoyed it...
I would never in my wildest imagination have thought that I'd like DS and get bored with MW before I played them....but...

No...they're not good....they're divine....
Graphics are of course not the best judgning by todays standards...but they're so replayable and char customization is second to none...
I'm still playing them and they're what made me open my eyes to RPG's....I didn't like any RPG before trying them...(the wore down world with a not too hopeful attitude helped quite a bit too....but remember they are turn based if you plan to try them....)

If ya really like Fallout that much (like me) then watch for Lionheart too!
It's using the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. character system...maybe if a 3D CRPG would use this it might be interesting...

/starts writing ideas down...

I sort of am Kado...it's nothing I eagerly look forward to like I do with Gothic2,but I will at least check the demo and so on.(don't know how much BIS actually have helped Reflexive with it...so I'm keeping an open mind about how it'll be since it's their first RPG...it does look promising so far though)
I'm still hoping IPlay gets quite a bit of cash with IWD2,Lionheart and
Jefferson (unannounced RPG by BIS that's under production) so they'll pull the stops and let Chris Avellone and the IWD2 gang start work on Fallout 3.(they're the ones most likely to do Fallout3 if it ever comes...)

ok guys

sorry for my english but i have something interesting for you about the characteristics of the NPC's in Gothic II.

We do have another developers thread in the german gothic forum and there are a lot of nice things to know.

The world in Gothic II will come even more alive than we know in Gothic I, the NPC's have a lot more of activitys and manners and they will react more accurate on you. They will even discern the weatherconditions.

In Gothic II there will be 4 classes of different rooms in which the npc's will react on your behaviour and there are always some keypersons who will know everything you did.

You will have 3 different ways to finish the game (dragon slayer etc.) and every way will have its own quests and places to see.

Gothic isn't exactly as small as a few of you just said, it is more compact. One time you cross a brdige and 2min later you go under it and you can't even remember that you were at this point some minutes ago.

The landscape is very tricky and there is a lot to adventure and to see.

Sorry for that but in MW there is no more to see than some nice cities and a very very long road. Graphics are great but i just visited a shop and stole everything the trader had. He just said "hey stop it" and than i went outside and killed some villagers with the stolen weapons. I stole a diamond for 60000 gold/credits at the mage guild and become the richest person in this world. I stopped playing MW after this and began playing Gothic the third time in a way i did't played that game before.

Yeah, thanks for the info, oPPonent.

Some infos from the WoG thread have been integrated in our Gothic 2 facts page some days ago. The rest will follow when Jaz finds the time.
