Xardas hidden switch and stuff

Xardas' Tower
--------------------------------------
Start. After talking to Xardas go to his fireplace. There is a hidden switch there.
When you lock to the switch no name appears, so hit the "Ctrl" everywhere.
The switch is on your right as you look the fire place. The switch opens the Iron Gate at the Pentagram room(where Xardas is).On the table you will find a Mana Essence.Inside the chest you will find 20 gold coins and two spell scrolls(Healing Light Wounds&Fireball).Go up Xardas tower. In a table you will find a Essence of Healing.Go over the other side grap the key from the table and unlock the chest. There are 5 book stands there.Read everyone, it gives +25 EX each one. There are also 2 other book stands into the Pentagram Room. But only the one can be readen cause the other is in use by Xardas.
So when you walk out from Xardas tower you should have 6x25=150 EX already
in the game. Also open all the other chests and pick up the 4 gold coins which are between the barrels. That's by now!

You get more exp for the books if you wait to read til a later chapter though.

Found the exp in books first time around except for the one Xardas reads. When I went back in ch 5 to clear out the demons, read that book and got 250 xp for it. Chked out another one at the docks and got 250 xp for that one. When I went through the second time, waited til ch 5 to read any books and got 250 xp for each one. It must be the first time you have read a book to get xp for it.

Same happened with the tobacco. Made apple tobacco once in ch 1 and got like 25 xp for it. Next time i made apple tobacco in ch 4 or 5 and got 250 xp for it.

The same thing happens with pickpocketing, although I didn't check to see if you can steal from the same NPC in different chapters cause I always wait till ch 5 to pickpocket the NPC's.

Unfortunately you can only pickpocket once.

The different XP thing sounds to me as if it grows with each level. Maybe it is relative to the XP you need level up. Like 2% of the needed XP for reading a book.

Could be, I think I still have a save game in each chapter, I might go look to see how much reading a book is worth in each. If I do, Lazy butt that I am, I'll post values.(unless of course someone else gets to it first )

Pickpocket and read books

Ch 1 25 each
Ch 2 75 each
Ch 3 150 each
Ch 4 200 each
Ch 5 250 each

Doesn't seem to matter what level you are. Same point value throughout chapter. Also point value is exactly 1/4 of point value of the prophecy Abuyin gives you each chapter.

its just proportional to your level
ie - wth is 25xp gonna do for you in chap 5? so they amp it up
and in chap 6 pickpocketing nets you 300xp (Yes, I pickpocketed my crewmembers. We're out of town and Im a level 30+ Paladin with best armor and best weapon, what they gonna do? lol)

I thought it had to do with the chapter because you can start ch 2 as a 4th level. The writers maybe thought you deserved more because of your progress? Eh, whatever.
