Elder Scrolls: Teaser Updated |
|
The Elder Scrolls teaser countdown splash has moved to "Seven" (obviously) and a new message of "Where is the lost Dragon's blood, the Empire's sire?". |

"And from the womb of the void, who shall stem the blood tide?"
jbosco1988: Yes, that's exactly what it means. We knew that as soon as Morrowind was finished they'd start planning the next project, and I guess this is going to be either the formal announcement or something more substantial.
We knew the Empire was in trouble back in Daggerfall days, and the events of Morrowind showed it even more - the Emperor was grasping at straws, turning to Dunmer prophecy that was completely at odds with the national religion, and hoping that if the prophecy came true he could forestall all-out insurgence and the breakaway of the provinces. Fortunately, he suceeded. But it was only ever a delaying tactic.
There have been many rumours surrounding the next project, with talk of games set in the Summerset Isle, Argonia, Cyrodil and in even a completely different plane of existence. I think it's now clear that Cyrodil is where we're going next.
There's talk of Oblivion, of the death of the Emperor, the fall of the Empire, and the return of the Daedra. One thing's for sure, the next part of the story is soon to be written, and we're once again to be playing a leading role!
But as for exactly what this project is - whether it's an expansion pack for Morrowind (unlikely), a new game written in the same engine, or a completely new engine - no one knows. We don't even know whether it's going to be an Elder Scrolls RPG (Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind), or an Elder Scrolls Adventures game (Battlespire, Redguard, Travels). Hell, maybe they've just come up with some pretty t-shirt designs, and are launching a Cafe Press shop?
Time will tell, quite literally!
EDIT: Oh, and by the way - why did the countdown start from eight, and what does that big symbol mean? Well, it's the Tamrielic character "O", and Oblivion just so happens to have eight characters... _________________ Charlie Dobbie
