Need help getting out of the lava room

I'm stuck on the first platform on the lava room, after fleeing the black dog in the kitchen. I've tried several ways, and there seems to be only one way into the room. It seems that the platforms I need to jump onto are just too far away. Any suggestions?

ekwhite, follow the obvious route.. Even so the run'n'jump seems to be nearly impossible, just do it. Additionally, someone on this forum wrote that it is possible to place sword(s) at the end of platform and walk over them, thus bridging the distance.

BTW, I never had any problems with those platforms (played 2 times) and it surprises me to hear for some people it is almost an impossible task.. May be it's worth some investigation?

Good luck

As a person who detests jumping puzzles, I found this one easy. Just place your cursor where you want to land, get close to the edge and press the two buttons. If I can do it, anyone can!!

Why I hate platformers

Thanks to your suggestions, I finally managed to get out. The jumping required precise placement of the character's feet and the cursor. If you don't get them right, this can be frustrating.
