Not really. as a warrior, you can still max out bow and crossbow skills, so warriors and archers are sort of combined together. But there is clearly a line that distinguishes between a warrior and a mage.

You can still max out bow and crossbow skills as a mage. An archer is just as different from a warrior as he is from a mage. The skills are totally separate.
