Just started the Arx - what do I do with all the inventory?

I have started to play Arx Fatalis during the wait for Gothic II. It started out kind of dull; but I will say it is starting to get interesting. Kind of weird; but interesting. Any way, I have just notified the King that his guards have been attacked and he has given me a note to give to the Troll King so they will tunnel through to the stranded guards. During all this exploring, I have acquired a full inventory of stuff. It all looks important to me, but might be worthless, who knows. Any way, when do I find a store or someone that buys or sells things? Can I store my stuff somewhere, or is the game to big?

There are 3 stores in the city of Arx: A general store, a jewler, and an armory. There are certain times when some of the stores are closed, but the general store should be open at all times.

You can store items in barrels or on the ground if you want to stash things. They will not dissappear.

You will also find extra bags in the game that can be used to augment your inventory space. Eventually you will also get your own room that is great for stashing things, but I don't want to spoil too much .

I found the armor guy; but how do I sell him some of my things. I double clicked on a few items in my inventory to sell and wound up spending money for him to repair. I scanned the little manual and couldn't find anything on selling.

Max,

Yeah, you got the selling interface all wrong. You actually don't interact with the merchant himself to buy/sell stuff.

All you have to do is open one of the chests in a merchant's shop. To sell an item, drag it from your invenotry into the merchant's chest. To buy an item, drag the item from the merchant's chest into your inventory. The prices will be listed when you put your mouse pointer over the item.
