| Monsters respawn between chapters? |

Relative noob here, and somewhat confused.
Taking my time with chapter 1 and trying to kill everything that seems possible for exp. Do monsters respawn between lvls? I thought they did in Gothic I. Is there some quests or monsters you miss if you start chapter 2 earlier. If not, I'll probably move into next chapter to get access to better arms/armor.
Also, currently lvl 9, whats a good lvl to move onto chapter 2.

new monsters spawn between chapters not levels, level 9 seems ok at the end of chapter 1, some people have moved onto 2nd chapter as early as chapter 2. You can most chap. 1 quests in chapter 2, except maybe some that involve joining a guild, such as torlof's test.

most monsters respawn in new chapters
but before going on to chapter 2 you should train more you can get over level 20 before joining a guild by doing all quests and beating some people
buy doing all quests and killing all monsters in khorinis except the crypt
you get about level 17 and you will need your power in level 2
