How much wealth?

How much wealth will I need? Is investing in skill points in skinning animals wise? I already have lock picking.

You definitly need wealth in Chapter 1, but you won't need that much later in the game. In fact, you can finish the game without any hunting or lockpicking skills. Many people think that the lockpicking skill is useless because you can just save before picking a chest and if a lockpick breaks, you can reload the game and try again. I think that investing in hunting skills is worth it.

Do you go right? Or do you go left? A simple decision, yes? No ambiguities. Only the dream of the path not taken! And so one might stand in this place and contemplate for a long while. What will I miss if I go left? What will I lose if I go right? And in my indecision, have I chosen a worse fate?

To start the game, I would spend some experience points on hunting skills (claws and teeth worked fine for me). This way, when you kill some animal, not only do you get the experience points; you can turn a profit by selling the meat and other parts of the animal. It's a win, win situation!

As for lock picking, level 1 is all you really need. It saves you on picks, and you don't have to re-load the game as often!

If you have a slow computer like my you would diffinitely want to get lvl 1 lockpicking. I think you should get all the hunting skills because thats only 1 skill point each and skill points arn't that important in Gothic. The potions that add to stats are way for important. For example if you want to be a warrior all you would need is 190 skill points. ( 100 to learn master weapons and 90 to get stength to 100) Its even less if you join new camp.
You can have 190 skill points by the time you are level 19 and you still have plenty of leveling to do. The only way to get stronger after this is to use the potions.
