Where are all these chests to picklock in OC so i can get rich

Everytime i go into a house the owner comes chasing me out.

Also i have yet to pick anything...so i assume i need to go put points into it(how many?), then buy picklocks...then what are the keyboard controls to pick the lock?

Thanks guys!

First learn how to pick locks Again, I will not give the answers to how you do it because I believe it takes the fun out of learning the game when you’re told the answers. But there are others that will…

Diego and Grim have ideas who's V.I.P in the town. If you speak to them, they will probably mention who the master thief in OC is...
If you still cant figure it out, I can say he have a name that is similar to a body part... Or rather parts...

To be able to unlock chests, sneak into the huts. No, not the ability "sneak" but just try to walk into the huts when noone sees you. Try different times during the day. Sometimes you can sneak in during the night, sometimes during the day.
Some places are more inhabitated by others, like around the campfires... Leave them until later. Try huts where there is little people around. The villagers are blinder than you can imagine...

You can open some locked chests without any skill points invested in the skill. In fact, I think you can open most of the chests in the outer portion of the old camp without any lockpicking skill. It only becomes truly REQUIRED for later on when locks become harder.

Well, beat everyone that isnt 100% friendly to you. =)

There is one Digger that walks around with about 30 lutes...
Probably a bug, or the authors didnt tought their players would be so stupid tht they would beat up everyone...

Best Regards

I believe that you do need some lockpicking skill to open chests that are farther in the game. As has been mentioned, the skill also keeps you from breaking your lockpick each time you make a mistake. Saving before you open each chest, finding out the "combination" then loading your game will ensure that you don't run out of lockpicks... although the load screen can become rather dull :/.
