Sure as hell didn't have time to check all those GameSpot news items in detail but thanks to "Lorgosin" for pointing out that GameSpot mentioned an October release date for 'Gothic II' in its <a href="http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/gothic2/preview_6027969.html" target="_blanK">E3 impressions</a> article. |

What about all those other semi-official dates we've seen for June. What reason could there be to hold over the US release till October? Give me a break! This whole mess is Jowood's fault. If their ass wouldn't have gone bankrupt we'd have the game already.

Ok..calming down. Nothing is official yet till we hear it from InfoGrames..
EDIT:
Actually, you know what? If it does turn out that the US will have to wait til October to get the English Gothic 2 BUT other Europeans (like UK, etc) get it in June like the rumor , then we'll just set up a little "buddy" program.
Say there's an RPGDotter in the UK. I pay him via PayPal and get him to buy a copy and ship it over here for me (since amazon won't do it). Problem solved. So either way --if Gothic 2 English is released ANYWHERE in an official capacity, I will get my hands on it.

this release date mixup is very confusing indeed. if gothic 2 really comes out in october only, it is 11 months after its initial release in germany!!! and the addon is out in germany as well probably by that time.
anyway, atari/infogrames' website sucks as well as their pr, at least for us, as they never answer any mail we send them and their website is less than up to date...so we will just have to wait  |

lol isn't this just great...If Gothic 2 arrives not until october,the game is for sure going to become slightly outdated then.But no matter what I WILL buy it anyway,cause i think its one the best games all time  .However It isn't the case for most people, cause there are OTHER games like half-life2, Deus EX 2,KOTOR, Sw-galaxies,Rome - total war,Doom 3,Another Full Throttle, another Sam and Max, another Jedi Knight, Gladius,Max payne2 etc to be scheduled SAME time with this RPG masterpiece,which most people don't even know about!How could anyone expect that gothic 2 is capable to compete players' intrest when there will be games like those to be released next fall..

I dont Know about you, But if they even try to release that game anywhere in english before they release it in the us they are in BIG TROUBLE. This will only confirm to me that there are business idiots working on a great game. I mean no business sense at all. what I mean is this: if they rlease in english to only the UK, The first thing iam gonna do is call up every hacker I know to get this game for free. iand I WILL GET THIS GAME. so much for the purchase. I would have bought it if they had only released it. I think this will be the case nationwide if the events turn this way... |
