Memories of ancient games II...

A while back I asked who else had played Gremlin's Realms of the Haunting action adventure with RPG elements (hehe, long designator). Now I just had to think of another - quite old - game fitting this description: who else played (or remembers) the Bitmap Brothers' Chaos Engine, and what did you think of it?

I played the Chaos Engine and I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately I got stuck somewhere and stopped.

Later I bought 2x the CE of Z because the T-Shirt was very stylish.

It´s quite possible I even bought an original of The Chaos Engine and still have it, but I´m not sure yet.

Yes!!! I remember The Chaos Engine. I believe I owned an Amiga 500 at the time. The Bitmap Brothers made some of the best games around. I still enjoy a game of Speedball 2 when I have the time. Wonder what happened to them. Evolution?

As far as I remember the Chaos Engine wasn’t exactly original as it borrowed a lot from the great Alien Breed games. Eventhough I liked the Alien Breed games a lot more, I still think that the Chaos Engine was a solid game.

I remember the game, but I never played it because I tought it was just a simple action game; now it seems I missed something... I bet it won't work on a windows computer.

Bitmap Brothers and Psygnosis were my favorite companies for Amiga games. I played Chaos Engine in single and two player mode and enjoyed it a lot.

Amiga forever !

Harking back to Amiga days reminds me of a game called Knightmare. Does anyone out there recall playing this fiendishly difficult game? It might not even have been distributed outside Britain. It was a genuine RPG with really difficult combat and a quirky storyline. It was the first time I recall getting so wrapped in a game that dawn would break without me even noticing that I hadn`t been to bed yet. What a memory!

Chaos Engine with two players was the best fun back in the day. I remember how jealous I was, because my friend had an Amiga 500 and all I got was a 286 PC from my father's office.
Anybody remember Turrican 2? Great sidescroller, the musics were _awesome_
I have the soundtrack for both Turrican and Turrican 2 on a cd, and I listem to them quite often

Knightmare was supposed to be Allister Crowter's I think step up from Captive, thought captive was way better, and liberation!

Anyway these are all new games compared to stuff like Legends of Lore, Roadwar 2000 and LEgend of Blacksilver, I played roadwar 2000 a few months back, now that is hard!
