Hello,
here is a small hint on how to enable more blood effects within the game.
1. Open the file "GothicSystemgothic.ini" with a text editor.
2. Locate the line "extendedMenu=0" and replace it with "extendedMenu=1". Save the file.
3. Start the game as usual.
4. Now there is an additional entry in the options menu "blood detail" (or similar). Use it to control the amount of blood displayed. (The value ist stored in the same file "gothic.ini" in the entry "bloodDetail").

Good hint, but I think people should stay with the default setting. Or else there will be too little or too much blood. By the way, do you know when Gothic will be released in Norway?

Actually, with increased blood set to 3 (default=2) it is far more realistic. You should try it before frowning on the idea. |

I've heard of you Dieter... But most people already knows about the "BloodDetail=3" function already.
It was told when the German version was first released.
BloodDetail=3 is a great inhancement. It makes blood trails from injured characters. Makes chasing people much easier  ... And retracing steps, as well(if you're injured). |

I am in Us, recently bought the game and didn't know about this.
Thanks, the blood trails are great.
Adds some fun to an already fun game.

I live in Sweden and have ordered Gothic from amazon.co.uk and the game should be arriving any day now. I got a book from amazon yesterday and that one shipped 2-3 days before. =)

I also ordered it through http://www.amazon.co.uk, but I canceled it when I discovered that the norwegian store http://www.spillbutikken.as had it. So now I've ordered it through them. I think I'll get it this week. |
