I considered getting WinXP, but, well, I'm pretty strapped for cash right now, and considering I was able to play for 30 or 40 hours before these problems began leads me to believe it might just be the game itself. I've even considering doing a complete reinstall (keeping my save game files, of course) to see if that helps, but I'm not sure.
I noticed that the crashes would occur most often when I was switching from the game world to the inventory screen. The average amount of time I'm allowed to play for now is five minutes.
I'm going to try and mess with it tomorrow, but, to be honest, I'm not holding out much hope of getting the game to work properly again until the patch is released (and if they take as long to make the patch as they did to make the game, I'll be waiting awhile). *sigh* I suppose I'll be digging out my Baldur's Gate II or Freedom Force games. After playing Morrowind, there just isn't anything nearly as satisfying.... |
