I'm hunting the birds in Trynton but no luck. Must be like the vampire my first time. I never got one the first game and now I have two. (g) |

IIRC, I got my giant picus egg in the Rapax castle zoo, first time through. I'm just at Trynton with my second party and I haven't fought any picuses yet. _________________ The world itself shifts and changes and fades to mist like the strings of a minstrel's harp, and mayhap the dreams we forge are more enduring than the works of kings and gods.-Robert E. There's a few types of Picuses; it's gotta be a Giant Picus to drop the egg. I don't think any of those spawn in Trynton. I have seen them in the Swamp and Mine Tunnels, as well as SE and NW wilds. If the event that kills them causes massive HP loss, they'll drop stuff more often, like anything else. |

As far as I know, the eggs are dropped only by Greater Picuses.
One place where there are fixed (not randomly spawned) Greater Picuses, other than the Rapax Castle Zoo, is the Wilderness Clearing, before the Rapax make camp. This is for the odd people who don't like messing up the zoo (me, for one ) but are looking for eggs... |

ehhh..right! Greater! sorry i said 'giant'. If you want to get into the zookeepers' shack, you have to mess up this zoo, though. |

Actually, I regularly run into packs of Picuses and Greater Picuses on the Arnika-Trynton road. |
