add on works for me too
Using the same engine works for me too (always leaves the oppurtunity for character import and earlier release time)
Now giving us a few add-ons while you design a new engine for Gothic II...

I hope they have three actual endings this time. Or at least three *DIFFERENT* PATHS to the same ending. |

The problem with multiple endings is the difficulty in making a sequel to it.
Multiple paths to an ending if fine if its an open ended game.
Only games like those final fantasy clones(no sequel games) look good with multiple endings.

I agree that using the same engine in Gothic 1 for Gothic 2 would be good and acceptable and would save time and money. However, if for Gothic 3 they use the same exact engine without upgrading it at all, that would not be cool as I think it would start looking dated compared to other pc games coming out at the time and I think they could take a hit from reviewers. They should take advantage of the constantly improving technology of the pc(faster processors, more ram, better graphics cards, etc.) |
