Apparently Thorus is supposed to offer 2-Handed skill when you become a guard for some reason he offers me str/dex upgrades and no 2-handed...Did I do something wrong?

Did you mastered 1h sword? He will not offer you 2h until you will be master of 1h.

You can skim by with lvl 1 1-handers, just wait until you become a mercanary and Lee will teach you.

Two handed-weapons are too slow. You can learn 1 handed-weapon skill for level 1,
then knock down Scar, get his sword(blade?).
OK,now you can defeat everyone except these
immortal ones.

Don't listen to him - 2H weapons are NOT too slow. They are the very best. When I played my melee character, I was using 2H weapons with NO skill and it was significantly better than the 1H with skill. When you get 2H to master, there is nothing (except those artificially immune npcs) you cannot kill quickly.

Perhaps it is too slow for his style of play.

Personally, I didn't find two handed weapons to be but marginally slower. If you're gonna be a warrior ya got skill points to burn anyways. With 100 strenth and a good two handed blade, most NPCs only take one or two swings. Left, right *stab* ya know?

My point exactly, Carnal. I tried several times switching off to the 1H weapon. Generally, by the time the critter would be dead had I been using the 2Her - I was still swinging with the 1H weapon.

The two handed is alot better than one handed swords. Screw the one handed. The two handed is the warriors best friend.
