A quick question on the "water effects"

I just got Morrowind and I have a Geforce3 Ti200 video card. I have only looked at the very first part of the game. (Getting off the ship and the character creation) While getting off the ship, you walk over a gang plank over water. This water looked very bland. Is the opening water sequence supposed to be "good" looking water. I watched the introduction movie on my computer at work and it (the intro) showed water that was amazing looking. My computer at work has a Geforce-1 (nothing special) card. This opening scene of water doesn't even come close to what I saw on a lesser computer. Does the water get better later?

Do you have pixel shader or whatever it is called enabled?
