I think it would be fun to take the armor off of defeated enemies the way you can take the rest of their inventory. You could only equip it if your stats were high enough, just like weapons, but you could carry it in your inventory and drool over it.

Exactly. Follow some stylish guy into a dark alley, and...

But then I think, should be necessary to add into NPC AI some scripts for "man in armor that surely belonged to...".
Only few person have access to advanced armories in each camp. There is no possibility how someone one day appears in that armor and nobody will asks you about it.

Then you should wait with wearing your spoils until you're sure that people asking questions won't pose a threat to you anymore .

I can see your point Danicek, except that you can run all around the Old camp carrying the freshly murdered jackle's funny axe and bright yellow crossbow without anyone noticing.

I especially think you should be able to get the armor since you can't "earn" certain pieces, such as the heavy guards armor or the Ore barons armor. I'm not saying it would be realistic, just fun!

Right on Jaz!

And anyway, if you were really going to nit-pic about this, I don't think seeing a bunch of mix and match armor would be too out of the question. After all, you do live in a world driven by violence behind the barrier. It seems unlikely that usable bits of guards armor or bandits armor or whatever wouldn't get scavenged whenever possible, considering how inaccessible it is to the gameworld masses.

Besides leaving Nek with all that armor on just seems like such a waste!

I like the helmet and shield ideas. One thing that I know was done for simplicity was the ability to carry everything. Tons of stuff. Literally! But you change into a mealbug, then back and there is all your stuff.

Just why does everybody seem to have an insatiable lust to murder Jackal? Am I the only one who went out of my way trying not to kill him?

(... I know that I'm the only one. It was a rhetorical question.)

Jackle was a total creep! He totally got what he deserved, I would've resurrected him so I could kill him again if it was possible!

Anyway, it's all in the spirit of the game, so I don't have a problem with it. Certainly I wouldn't want to go out and do it in real life. Peace.

With 1st person though, you lose the moves as he's fighting -- loved seeing my charcter w/ 2H mastery take his stance when bringing out his weapon, and his hit and spin moves when attacking. I would also similarly miss the spell casting process -- to see my character huddle down and morph into another creature is priceless.

The ElderScrolls (including Morrowind) 1st person perspective of seeing only half of your blade as it slashed side-to-side or up and down in battle does not at all appeal to me.

morrowind (and for that matter the other elder scrolls games) also play 3rd person.

what i want to see in gothic 2 is dragons, and npcs fighting, like 2 citys of neighboring kindoms on each side of a river lobbing arrows over at eachoter, and just more realism. like a dragon flyin out and terrorizin the countryside

Hulk: I'm against killing if it can be avoided. On the other hand, in most games I'm a passionate thief who steals everybodys belongings if possible (yes, I did loot Diego's hut as well), so a nice piece of armor might provoke me enough to beat somebody up for it. But I'd say it depended on the circumstances, like, who wore it.

Gig: I assumed that you were talking about violence in games here . As I said, it was a rhetorical question. Peace!

For some unfathomable reason I just can't understand what makes people hate Jackal so much (even though I added him to the most hated list myself, btw, if for another reason, I guess). He's a slimeball, but he nevertheless made a lasting impression on me when I first met him in OC (or rather, bumped into him), with the halo of the rising sun behind him etc , and through all the 4 times I waltzed through this game this didn't change.
Must be an imprint, I guess, think of the baby ducks. When they come out of their eggs, disoriented, at a complete loss to understand the big, wide world, they usually take to the first thing they see which doesn't fail to impress them (say, a football), and think it's their mother...

I think that G could be more of an RPG if your strength would grow as you fight the enemies. Consistently, there should be magical experience, not only mana.

This will probably be added in G2 (I hope) as well as more characters walking around in the outside world.
