Fajeth is death

I just repaired the Eye of Innos and I'm back in the Valley of Mines to slain the dragons.
When i was searching the amulet of Angar I saw the mining camp from Fajeth and he was under attack by the Orcs.
I helped but he died just like his other paladin friend.
Is this normal or not?

it is normal the orcs are attacking the camp, it's part of a quest (ur-shak is there too, on the cliff..)
i don't know if it effects the game that Fajeth is dead.
