mine tunnel

I have tried leaving the shack in the mine tunnel car several times. I have came out behind the door, the metal grate, and the lever (releasing the wood to clear the path). I can't help but think there is someplace else I am supposed to finish at. Does it have to do with which knobs I turn? Or do I need to turn at the correct shafts/ Or something else.

Turning the buttons on the board at the entrance to the mine-cart ride decides the route the mine-cart will follow. There are actual multiple exits, but one will make it possible to continue into another area!

A tip for the right combination is given in the compound near by the mine entrance where the T'rang Samurai is walking around, but if you just change one button at the time, and notice the route change of the mine-cart, you can easily cover all exits in no time.
