Search the forums via the 'search' button.. there have been several topics on it. My personal tip would be Elder Scrolls: Redguard, though, even if it's a bit older 8and even more of an adventure)... you have quite a lot of freedom there, the same 3rd person view and a lot of interaction.

No, it's not. Daggerfall was a DOS game. Redguard is a bit newer than that.

I might be wrong; but Redguard was just plain old Redguard. Morrowind wil be Elder Scrolls III. Arena was I, Daggerfall II

Daggerfall IS dos and can be difficult to get going on todays mighty beats of PC's.
Redguard was ok.... but not anywhere near as good as Gothic. (I got bored and didnt finish it)
Keep your money in your pocket and wait for Morrowinds release next month.
Of course.. if you simply MUST splash out right now.... Bethesda have just released "Sea Dogs" and I could do with someone teling what it's like.. so if you get that a report would be lovely.
Yours (a bit of a sea dog himself)Badger

Redguard was called 'Redguard - an Elder Scrolls Adventure'.

I got bored with it also and didn't finish it.
Ultima IX, with the correct patch is similiar to Gothic. The patched version is quite trouble free and has the same look as Gothic complete with day-night scenes, weather and even a boat ride. Plus, a little romance too. You should be able to get it cheaply in the bargin bin or e-bay

Try Rune,
Its not a RPG. Its more like a
hack and slash adventure, but its not bad
(altought Gothic is much beter). |

I will stick with Morrowind untilt he very end. I think it has what every good RPG should have-amazing graphics, great story, amazing character choices, and incredible side quests. _________________ "That which does not kill us makes us stronger."
