I wrote this in the Troll thread, but no one probably noticed...

When I was followed by a crowd of Orc Fighters from the Orcland and fled into the OC looking for help, the gate guards and nearby shadows attacked me instead of the Orc. When they knocked me out the guy who hit me last time said: "Let's forget about this argument..." I was shocked!

Next time I did the same thing but did not stop at the gates and ran into the Castle to the second floor and into one of the doors. Then I went downstairs and was knocked out by the gate guard again... No one else seemed to be upset about the Orc - at least they did not try to attack me.

Sounds like a bug.

They likley took the side of the victim, in this case, the Troll, who you attacked.

Just a thought: before you entered OC & the castle with the ORCs hot on your trail did you make sure to 'sheath' your weapons.
They seem to take serious offense when you don't and have longggggg memories.
I know even with the troll after me I stopped long enough to hit the spacebar and run unarmed into camp.

Definitely yes. I was running for a last hundred yards with no weapon in my hand.
