In Morrowind, as in other games, the best of armour cannot be bought. It must be found in the deepest, darkest, dankest dungeons in the Innards of Vvardenfell... Good Luck! _________________ Make good choices. |

Decent but Cheap Heavy Armour? |
|
Well, forget about wearing Ebony or anything - a Bracer will set you back 5000!
Okay, head for Caldera and find the armourer called Hodlismod. I believe he has some Silver armour that's pretty good level - Helm and Cuirass I believe. Also he has Imperial Templar bracers, which (unless they've been toned down in one of the patches) still get my vote for one of the best rating/cost ratios you can get. I didn't upgrade from these until I moved to Orcish.
Wander around the various Imperial Legion forts and visit the stalls there. Try to find some Imperial Chain Pauldrons.
Examine the money you have left. The items I've picked out are pretty cheap so you may have quite a packet left. Consider buying a Dreugh Shield from the armourer in Balmora - quite expensive and it's actually Medium Armour, but it's of such a high rating it'll probably be better than Heavy for you.
If not, try to find a Steel or Imperial Steel tower shield. If you're a weedy weakling go for a normal one.
Boots and Greaves are harder (and much more boring) - I expect Imperial Steel will be best for you, but I'm not certain. Again, search the Imperial Legion forts - clearly marked on your map, and on the outskirts of major towns
Hope that helps, but don't forget to leave enough for a decent Silver Long Sword or something! _________________ Charlie Dobbie
